October 27, 2007
AFS Intercultural Programs celebrated their 60th anniversary with “The World Peace Forum” at Columbia University, inviting WAFF President, Nancy Hunt, to serve as guest speaker and panelist in the “Peace is Possible” and “Today’s Ambulance Drivers” discussion panels. The event brought together distinguished guests working to promote broader global understanding and peace, including documentary filmmaker and producer, Ken Burns; Mayor of Hiroshima and 2004 World Mayor finalist for Asia, Tadatoshi Akiba; and Executive Director of Doctors without Borders, Nicolas de Torrente; among others.
