Project: LIQUIFY

In Dipta’s country of Indonesia, despite the beautiful landscape, most communities do not have the privilege of clean drinking water. In 2020, Dipta decided to focus his final research project at the Green School on the deterioration of Bali’s water quality. After he completed his project, he continued to research clean water solutions. In June 2020, Dipta founded LIQUIFY – a nonprofit organization developing and building global water solutions, providing Balinese communities with sustainable sources of clean water, and educating the world about the global water crisis. The initiative is funded from locally made products, which also supports local community economies. After extensive research and testing, Dipta determined the most reliable and affordable water solutions were gravity-powered filters, water catchment systems and recharge wells. He improved the technology of these systems to be easily adapted and implemented into any community. To date, LIQUIFY has built 3 large catchment systems and recharge wells, providing clean drinking water to approximately 700 people in Bali. Dipta has presented clean water solutions to students and educators in Indonesida and Japan, and in November 2021, he presented to a live audience at the Green School, including a curated panel with influential leaders in the water space, such as the CEO of Terra Water and the founder of Student Ocean Ambassador Program (SOAP). Dipta is working to transform his presentations into formal curricula and books that can be used worldwide, so that everyone can help save our planet’s most vital resource – clean water.
