Julius Akinyemi
Resident Entrepreneur, Massachusetts Institute of Technology

Julius Akinyemi is the Resident Entrepreneur at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where he focuses on the Information Economy in Developing/Emerging nations that will empower people to invent new opportunities for themselves and their societies. Prior to MIT, Julius was the Director of Emerging Technologies at PepsiCo Inc., responsible for providing innovative business solutions and identifying new business-enabling technologies. Julius has also served as the CEO/Founder of Applied Technology Solutions and a member of the UN ICT Task Force Working Group. In addition, Julius has been the SVP for Wireless Business Technology at Wells Fargo Bank, managing its Emerging Technologies Group; and Director of Finance, MIS and Administration for Pan American World Airways based in Paris, France. Julius is a native of Nigeria and has an MBA from Ohio University. He holds an Intellectual Property Patent on Virtual Private Message Broker.
