About WAFF’s Global Study

Our planet faces serious challenges – environmental, social and economic, to name a few. To solve these issues, collaboration among different groups is essential. Yet marginalized generations, especially youth, are often excluded from key conversations and decisions that have great consequences for our future. In recent years, many organizations – from private corporations and public institutions to nonprofits and government agencies – have started responding to this challenge through different forms of dialogue and collaboration. They work with young people or youth organizations, participate in forums for dialogue or create their own collaborative initiatives to involve and interact with stakeholders of different ages.

We Are Family Foundation’s Collaboration Across Generations: Insights, Challenges and Best Practices Global Study (“the Study”) is designed to better understand how well intergenerational initiatives currently work in different settings and situations, and what it takes to build authentic, meaningful forms of intergenerational collaboration.

WHAT IS THE STUDY?

The Study contained closed and open-ended questions about participants, their work and their experiences with intergenerational collaboration.

WHY IS IT NEEDED?

Simply put, we need to know what is working and what is not. We need to gain insights into how to create more effective collaboration between generations to solve our most pressing global issues.

WHO PARTICIPATED?

People from all sectors and locations interested in, or experienced with, intergenerational collaboration, whether as a participant, organizer or in any other relevant role.
