IMMA CALVO
As the Industry Director of Apps at Google, I'm passionate about the role Apps play in redesigning and disrupting how consumers interact and connect with brands to create meaningful relationships and loyalty instead of one-time transactions. We're beginning to discover and unlock the power of maintaining personal connection with users over time in the interwoven, multi-faceted world of entertainment, brands and community on apps.
I'm drawn to ambiguous, constantly-changing environments where we can push the envelope and do things differently, and I take from my previous experience to chart a way forward. In retail and performance, I focused on how brands and companies could take the consumer journey to a new level and not just navigate, but thrive in a highly competitive landscape.
Originally from Barcelona, I've worked in many global markets including Dublin and the UK and have an appreciation for the immense complexity and accompanying opportunity on the front-edge of an industry and market. I'm personally inspired by the startup ecosystem that's taken shape in Barcelona and much of the rest of Europe, and act as a connector for new players in that space.
I live in California with my husband and kids; outside of work I love to travel, ski, mountain bike, hike, and I am also addicted to Peloton. I need to keep up with my 7 and 9 year old boys who are typically very active, big soccer players and now.... addicted to Minecraft.
