More than 91% of children in rural Honduras are unaware of their environmental rights, despite being among the most exposed to climate change. Diana founded INNAEH, the country's first national youth-led network advancing young people's rights through climate education, civic engagement, and advocacy. The network trains young Hondurans in environmental rights, civic participation, and leadership, then opens real pathways into decision-making through partnerships with local governments and civil society organizations. Its model is built to replicate: participants go on to educate and mobilize youth in 14 of Honduras' 18 departments. Diana also led the co-creation and validation of a civil society report presented to the UN Human Rights Council, ensuring young people's perspectives shaped Honduras' 2025 human rights review. She is now working with local governments to embed youth climate rights into national policy and education systems, ensuring children understand that their participation in decision-making is a fundamental right.
