Project: Women 4 Climate Resilience (W4CR)
Nirvana has worked in climate and gender advocacy since she was 14, long enough to notice the same pattern everywhere: women absorb the worst of climate change and are largely absent from the conversations where decisions are made about it. She founded Women 4 Climate Resilience (W4CR) to close that gap by helping women turn lived experience into climate leadership. W4CR equips migrant, Indigenous, and diaspora women across Western Sydney with the knowledge, networks, and skills to lead grassroots climate action. Through storytelling and education workshops, W4CR gives women space to read their own experiences through a climate lens, develop solutions, and build confidence to advocate for them — with 88% of participants committing to continued climate action afterward. Nirvana is now developing a facilitation guide and mentorship program so women can lead intersectional climate spaces independently, anywhere in the world.
