Project: Voces de la Tierra
In 2022, Ángel spearheaded several initiatives for the youth movement Generación por el Desarrollo, removing thousands of tons of waste from beaches and rivers, and a year later, became their youngest-ever Subdirector. In 2024, Ángel co-founded Voces de la Tierra, a climate academy training youth across 15 Latin American countries to lead transformative initiatives. He also advises governments on climate policies, such as implementing an educational resource in 40 schools to train 4,000+ students on waste reduction. Ángel is now in conversations with public-private institutions to explore local legislation to ban foam and to build recycling centers nationwide. In 2024, he represented the Dominican Republic at the Meet the Leaders Forum, helping shape national climate strategy. In May 2025, Ángel received UNFCCC approval to co-organize the inaugural Local Conference of Youth in the Dominican Republic, an unprecedented opportunity for young Dominicans to contribute to the global climate agenda.
