Felipe Bernal
Felipe is a strategic advisor in corporate strategy and public policy, specializing in energy systems and industrial decarbonization. He currently serves as Senior Advisor on Energy, Climate and International Affairs to presidential candidates in Colombia, where he has led landmark transactions in the energy market and spearheaded the drafting of Colombia’s Hydrogen Economy and Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) bills, now under parliamentary debate.
A Global Energy Fellow at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy and a member of the World Energy Council’s Global Expert Community, Felipe brings 14 years of experience in strategy consulting and the energy sector, spanning M&A, investment strategy, geopolitical risk, and low-emission portfolio development. He has also collaborated with NGOs to mobilize capital and unlock blended finance potential to expand clean energy deployment, and strengthen critical minerals supply chains.
He has served on the boards of energy associations and clean-tech funds, led 80+ regional projects, and directed high-performing teams across Latin America—earning recognition as a driving force in advancing clean energy, energy security and sustainable growth.
