Project: FOLONA (For the Love of Nature) Hub

Jospin is the co-founder of FOLONA Hub, a nonprofit empowering Ugandan refugees to build sustainable communities while addressing the interconnected challenges of climate change, food insecurity, and gender inequity. FOLONA leads holistic programs in refugee camps, focusing on permaculture education, women's empowerment, and regenerative agriculture, directly impacting 2,285 people and 26 schools. They’ve also established 253 community gardens, which provide healthy food and collective learning of sustainable practices. FOLONA uplifts Indigenous women's leadership through "The Alpha Women" initiative and bridges the innovation gap by connecting refugee settlements with technology like satellite imaging and an information-sharing mobile app. At the intersection of innovation, Indigenous knowledge, regeneration, and conservation, FOLONA empowers communities to restore the planet while building collective resilience.
