Project: A Sustainable Future (ASF)
After conducting a nationwide study that revealed schools’ excessive paper consumption, Carolyn founded A Sustainable Future (ASF) to minimize academic printing's environmental impact and empower student eco-advocates. ASF provides its Paper Consumption Model (PCM), a data-analysis tool to optimize paper usage, to schools serving 98,577 students across the U.S. and India. Carolyn’s nationwide study also revealed "activism anxiety" prevented students from taking action, so ASF developed its Paper Consumption Program (PCP), a curriculum for students to implement the PCM in local institutions and promote sustainable consumption. As Co-President of Project Green Schools National Youth Council, she advises their Board to further promote climate education and advocacy training. In April 2025, Carolyn hosted ASF’s third Climate Convention to promote youth-led environmental action, continuing to inspire a generation that transforms how institutions perceive and use resources.
