Project: Youth Advisory Collective

In 2020, Gabriel co-founded Denver Public Schools (DPS) Students for Climate Action to empower students to make decisions impacting their future. DPS implemented Denver's first climate policy for reduced emissions and clean energy in 200 schools serving 92,000 students. In 2022, Gabriel became the United Nations' U.S. Global Goal Ambassador for Climate Action, organizing youth initiatives and co-authoring the first Youth Declaration of Human Rights. He then became the Inaugural Chair of the U.S. EPA's Youth Advisory Council, the first entirely youth-led federal advisory body, influencing 346 million people. Recognizing a gap in youth representation, Gabriel formed the Youth Advisory Collective to power youth advisory across education, business, and government. He also created Light CO2, a nonprofit and app helping individuals reduce their carbon footprint. Gabriel has spoken to 40+ million people on platforms including the UN and the Democratic National Convention. By 2026, he plans to launch 50 more youth councils across sectors, normalizing youth advisory in shaping their future.
