Project: OneStepGreener (OSG)
Witnessing Delhi's landfill crisis and pollution, Nav co-founded OneStepGreener (OSG) in 2018 to drive a zero-waste future across India. OSG provides an efficient pick-up system in 13 cities that incentivizes waste segregation, so far recycling 2.9 million pounds of waste from 300,000+ people. Through online resources, events, and a free curriculum in 150+ schools, OSG has educated 550,000+ individuals on sustainable waste practices. They also lead urban afforestation, planting 68,000+ trees, sequestering 3.42 million pounds of carbon, and generating 401.7 million pounds of oxygen. Gender equality is another core aspect of OSG, providing women waste pickers with vocational training and employing them with safe and dignified work. Currently expanding to Botswana, Nav is working to establish the world's first scalable, cost-effective waste management model, leveraging data, behavioral insights, and local systems to drive global environmental, economic, and social transformation.
