Carmen Danae Azor

Carmen Danae Azor is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and innovator working at the intersection of material innovation, climate action, and cultural resistance. She holds a dual Master’s in Innovation Design Engineering from the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London.

Her practice bridges contemporary art and regenerative design, rooted in a commitment to repair ecological harm, challenge extractive systems, and build restorative alternatives through art & design.

Carmen is the Founder of musatex™, a biomaterials start-up pioneering zero-synthetic textile innovation, and Creative Director of Neoaves™, a label redefining luxury fashion through a strict zero-synthetics philosophy. From natural fiber innovation to conservation technology, her work advances ecological restoration through research, collaboration, and a vision for regenerative solutions.

Her environmental films have reached millions and appeared in global campaigns and feature films, including 2073 (2025) and Aquaman (2019). She co-created In Praise of the Humpback (2019), an orchestral work with the MIT Wind Ensemble and Ocean Alliance. In 2020, her photograph was selected by Edward Enninful as one of British Vogue’s “Reset” covers, praised as a global warning. Her work has also been featured by the BBC, British Vogue, Smithsonian Magazine, and other international media outlets.

Through her work, Carmen challenges systems of power, uplifts underrepresented voices, and inspires a new generation to see art and design as instruments of change, resilience, and restoration.
