Project: Indigenous Youth Initiative

The Indigenous Youth Initiative (IYI) empowers Indigenous youth (ages 18-30)  focusing on creative media and storytelling within the context of Indigenous sovereignty and climate justice. This in-person 7 day training provides classes in video production, photography, and narrative crafting to amplify Indigenous voices. By blending traditional ecological knowledge with modern media techniques, IYI equips participants with the skills to tell their stories, advocate for indigenous sovereignty, and lead impactful climate/environmental campaigns. This training fosters cultural resilience, inspiring youth to use storytelling as a powerful tool for community activism, driving change amongst Native communities and beyond.
