The Environmental Justice Oral History Project (EJOHP) is a storytelling hub that uses oral histories, long-form journalism, community research, and multi-media narrative to capture the historically-excluded experiences and wisdom of environmental justice communities across the U.S. and U.S. South. Built in collaboration with grassroots organizations, movement elders, and academic institutions, EJOHP aims to correct the underrepresentation and attempted erasure of environmental justice in mainstream media, policymaking, and national environmental discourse. EJOHP serves as both an archival resource and an active tool for organizing – helping communities attract institutional support, surface overlooked histories and emerging solutions, and educate youth and new advocates about long-held fights for environmental justice.
